The sixth step on the route to web success is to follow up to see if your registering activities were successful. See if your pages were indexed. Search using keywords others might use. If your pages don't consistently come up near the top, find out why, make changes and register again. Drive on for details.

Check Your Page Listing
Search for your page using a unique keyword, such as your name. If your page has been indexed, check its appearance relative to others in the same category. Does it look and sound appealing?

[image: Stop Sign B] Keyword Search
Do a search using keywords others would use. If your page does not come out near the top in the search results, find out why by comparing yours to those that did rise to the top. Make any needed corrections.

[image: Stop Sign C] Register Your Page Again
You may not feel like going to all this trouble again. If so, ask yourself this question, "What good is it to register a page that no one will find even when they're looking for it?" Is it smart to get it right in the first place, or what?
